The Obsidian Druid
Book Description
Three monstrous creatures known as the tumari have broken free from an underwater dungeon, spreading destruction across the land. One has devastated the frozen homeland of the Asrai, while another has reached the ancient forest of Nymed. A third has emerged in Armoria, a city where unauthorized magic is punishable by imprisonment or death.
High Lord Dewer knows more about the creatures and their destructive purpose than anyone else, but he has guarded that knowledge for over a century.
Gwin, an Asrai blessed by the moon with the power to freeze flesh, arrives in Armoria seeking vengeance. Her family was murdered, and she intends to gather an army against the man responsible. When she discovers that Vanth, one of the city’s guards, possesses forbidden magic, Gwin recognizes a potential ally with extraordinary abilities.
But Vanth has no desire to betray Dewer. A talented swordswoman and fiercely loyal Salt Sword, she owes her position to the High Lord who rescued her from life on the streets. She has also concealed her moon-blessed abilities, knowing that discovery could cost her everything.
As the threat from the escaped creatures spreads, Vanth must decide whether to continue hiding her powers or risk using them in a city where magic is strictly controlled. For Gwin, convincing Vanth to join her cause could be essential to achieving revenge.
The Obsidian Druid, the first book in The Age of Aikana series, is a dark epic fantasy featuring twin moons, forbidden magic, dangerous creatures, ruthless rulers, and conflicting loyalties in a world of treacherous cities, satyr warriors, and political schemes.
