THE WORLD CHANGED IN AN INSTANT. NO ONE KNOWS WHY. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT COMES NEXT.

At a paleontological dig in Utah, Dr. Evelyn Reed and her research team watch the familiar landscape vanish around them. The desert is replaced by a dense jungle filled with plants and predators that should have disappeared millions of years ago.

Lieutenant Commander Frank Miller and his Navy SEAL team are sent on what should be a routine rescue mission. But during the flight, they see Nevada drowned in lava, and when they reach Utah, they discover the scientists’ distress call is only the beginning.

Inexplicable pulses transform their weapons and equipment—and diminish their chances of making it home. Evelyn tries to find a pattern in the impossible as Frank leads the survivors through a world where geography no longer matches the map and history refuses to stand still.

Frank has only one objective left: reach California and find out whether his daughter, Susan, is still safe.

But the road home crosses a world that has fallen out of time.
